Young Man Got Bitten by a Shark, a Bear And a Rattlesnake in Less Than 4 Years

Not many people could be proud to say that they’ve survived a bear attack or that they have all their limbs intact after encountering a shark. Or that they’ve been bitten by a venomous snake and lived to tell the story.

Well, except for this young man from Colorado… He survived all of the attacks and he’s FINE!

Dylan McWilliams managed to get attacked by these three animals in less than four years. But how did that happen and what did he have to say about his experiences?

Lucky or Unlucky?

On 20 April, he was interview by a news outlet in Honolulu. McWilliams said:

“I don’t know. I’m either really lucky or really unlucky.”

He is only 20 years old, but this man has spent a lot of time in the outdoors. The last attack happened this Thursday, on 19 April. He was almost 50 yards from Shipwreck’s Beach off Poipu, swimming when he was attacked by a shark. One of his legs had deep cuts, but it wasn’t life-threatening.

McWilliams said that “The scariest part was swimming back,” because the shark could have followed him because he was leaving a trail of blood from the injured leg.

After his last experience, he needed seven stitches. Last summer, in July, he had nine staples in his scalp after meeting a 300-pound bear in the forest. He was out camping in Colorado when he was attacked by a bear:

“The bear grabbed the back of my head and started pulling me and I was fighting back as best as I could. It dropped me and stomped on me a little bit, and I was able to get back to the group and they scared it away.”

And before his encounter with the bear, three and a half years ago, McWilliams was in Utah. He was bitten by a rattlesnake, but only a little bit of venom got inside and he was ill for a small period of time.

As for his parents, McWilliams said that they ‘are grateful I’m still alive’.

At only 20 years old, Dylan McWilliams has a lot of stories to tell from his adventures and he’s lucky to have gotten alive after each. Or was he actually unlucky enough to stumble upon predators?
