If you’re a fan of retro cars like many of us, then you made it in the right place! Porsche has some compelling and beautiful set of wheels to offer you: the 911 Targa and Targa 4S models. The notorious German automobile manufacturer went online to reveal the two new cars officially.
Even though both of the new cars were supposed to be launched at the 2020 Beijing Motor Show, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Highlights
One of the highlights is the fully automatic roof system that can be opened and closed in only less than one minute. The new Targa models feature a wide roll hoop, a wraparound rear window, and a movable roof section above the front seats. These features resemble the legendary Targa model from over half a century ago – more precisely, from 1965.
The exterior of the 911 Targa has plenty of design elements of its 992 model generation. The body features more pronounced wheel housings for the front, compared to the predecessor. Furthermore, its bonnet has a distinctive recess for its LED headlights. Extending rear spoiler and an elegant light bar can be seen on the rear of the car.
The engine present in the 911 Targa 4S is capable of 331 kW (450 PS; 911 Targa 4S:), and the car reaches the 100 km/h mark in only 3.6 seconds. The top speed of the 911 Targa 4 is 289 kmph, while the 4S is capable of 304 km/h. Both cars are fitted with intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK).
Surely the ongoing pandemic cannot delay everything, as human’s desire to advance technologically is greater and more ambitious than any disease. Hopefully, the pandemic will pass away for good in the upcoming months.
