The US Reports a Record Number of COVID-19 Deaths Over a Span of 24 Hours

COVID-19

It’s only a matter of time until the COVID-19 vaccine will be applied in the States, and the country desperately needs it. The USA continues to occupy the first place in the world rank of the most affected countries by the ongoing pandemic. With over 14.3 million total infections and more than 280,000 deaths, things aren’t looking good at all for the USA.

Even now, scientists continue to find out new things about the COVID-19 disease and its symptoms. Recent data reveals that a person doesn’t necessarily have to experience fever in order to be infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Also, researchers found out about new symptoms for COVID-19, such as depression, brain fog, and even teeth loss.

Over 2,800 deaths among American citizens for December 2

CNN writes that the American authorities reported 2,833 deaths caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus yesterday, December 2. It’s the highest number of deaths over a period of 24 hours registered for any country since the start of the pandemic.

But the negative records regarding the COVID-19 disease from the US are not over. According to the COVID Tracking Project, the number of patients infected with the disease in the US hospitals Wednesday is 100,226. The number is also the highest reported for a given day during the pandemic.

Dr Jonathan Reiner, who is a cardiologist and professor of medicine from the George Washington University, declared for CNN:

By this time next week, we are going to be talking about 3,000 deaths a day — that’s 9/11 every single day

Experts continue to say that for the moment, the best weapons people have against the pandemic are the most basic ones: wearing a mask, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing our hands.
