Elon Musk Shares Images Of Falcon 9 Rocket
SpaceX is an important name when it comes to space exploration. The CEO of the company, Elon Musk has an active online presence and he loves sharing with his followers the latest updates. It is always interesting to keep up with him, as he keeps posting news about the SpaceX projects.
Recently he posted an update about Falcon 9, one of the most ambitious SpaceX projects. In the images we can see the rocket landing on the Of Course I Still Love You drone ship. The rocket managed to complete its mission.
The picture was posted on the official Twitter page of Elon Musk and you can see the rocket moments before touching the ground. The flames from the Falcon 9 light up the entire picture and a large part of the landscape is covered in smoke and fumes.
The drone ship is located in the Atlantic Ocean, which is off the Florida coast. The Launchpad 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral is the place where rockets take off. This is not the only project of Space X. For example, Just Read the Instructions is the name of another ship, but that one supports launches from California’s Vandenberg Air Force Base in the Pacific Ocean.
The Falcon 9 remains however an important rocket. So far it was used to launch multiple satellites into space, but things could evolve quite a lot in the future. SpaceX is planning to send humans to space soon. In order to achieve that, the Crew Dragon capsule was designed. Astronauts from NASA should be sent to the International Space Station (as well as from it). The first test launch is supposed to take place on March 2, but there won’t be a crew for the tests.
