SpaceX next-generation spacecraft, using the new rocket engine, Raptor, has finally taken off when it’s engine sparked fire, roaring to life. The crew had no idea what would happen when they would set Starhopper free, but when they did, they were in for a ride.
The tension built up at the roadside, about two kilometers from the launch-pad. The sky was lit with fire from the rocket and then smoke enveloped the scenery.
The vehicle was not visible through the smoke, and we didn’t know whether it was moving or not, we couldn’t tell. The smoke vanished, and then the vehicle moved. The distance it traveled was not specified, about 20 or 30 meters up high, yet company founder Elon Musk classified the flight a total success.
SpaceX Starhopper Prototype Launched for the First Time
This launch carried a lot more weight for the locals. About ten years ago, they had witnessed as SpaceX had come into the most impoverished border community, exploring a low-lying wasteland at the border of Boca Chica Highway. Partnering with the state of Texas, only then, they had built launch pads and facilities. The people of Texas finally got what they wanted, the launch of a rocket, and boy was it worth the wait.
The moment Starhopper left the ground, the SpaceX employees knew they could amount to much more. SpaceX Starship has been manufactured and developed for years by the engineers, with the hope that one day, it might bring humans to Mars. Even if NASA isn’t funding Starship, SpaceX investors’ money and the talent that went into building it promises a lot, even for further generations of spaceships.
This excellent display of next-level engineering and passion from the SpaceX company is to be respected. They are aiming to build the world’s most massive rocket and the most capable spaceship, and with this great determination, they will succeed big time.
