NASA is launching a fun contest for its fans again. This time, the fans are asked to come up with an exciting concept with the size of a bar soap that will receive the chance to be sent in the outer space. The contest has a budget of 160.000 USD, which will be offered to the participants with the most impressive concepts.

The miniaturized payloads will be sent in the outer space, using Romba-size rovers. In this way, NASA is promoting the Artemis program, whose primary objective is to send humans again on the Moon before 2024. In addition to this, the company is aiming to establish a permanent base to facilitate the perpetual presence of humans on the surface of the Moon.

New Online Contest From NASA

Up until now, 12.000 people have already applied with unique creations to send the in the outer space. In order to make their dream come true, NASA has signed a contract with SpaceX to deliver the winners to the Moon.

The participants are asked to create a product that would enable the astronauts to transform the materials found on the Moon into resources. The main aim of the small spacecraft has to support the human presence through state-of-the-art technology that would improve the quality of life in the outer space.

The challenge can be taken either by an individual of by teams and the last day one can apply is the 8th of June. The winning projects will be announced during the following month. The company is stating that this challenge should be highly appreciated because it offers ordinary people the chance to set foot on the surface of the Moon, even though they do not realize this physically. To support this initiative, NASA is working on launching more future projects bearing a resemblance to this one.
