First and foremost, a person applying must be a citizen of the United States.
Also required is a master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an authorized university; suitable degrees in engineering, physical science, computer engineering, and mathematics are all accepted.
Additional requirements include having at least 2 years of comparable professional activity after finishing their degree, or having 1000 jet aircraft hours.
NASA also stressed the sorts of traits it is seeking for in its astronauts, such as the ability to lead others, communicate effectively, and collaborate well with other people.
